Inside Line Promotions – WEST LEBANON, N.Y. (Aug. 1, 2017) – Joe Trenca posted his career-best Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions result last weekend at Outlaw Speedway.
The Mucci Motorsports driver powered to a ninth-place result on Friday at the track in Dundee, N.Y., where he registered his 10th top-10 finish of the season. That ties his most top 10s earned in a season.
“It was really great,” he said. “I really enjoy running with the All Stars.”
The night began with Trenca qualifying 17th quickest overall, which ranked fourth best in his group. That gave him the pole for a heat race. Trenca ended third, which missed a spot in the dash by only one position and lined him up on the outside of the fifth row for the main event.
“On the start we got right up to seventh and were battling behind fifth and sixth the entire race,” he said. “We had a restart with two laps to go and I got a bad restart and got squeezed into the wall so we fell back to ninth.”
Trenca’s ninth-place result gave the team momentum entering the All Star show at Lebanon Valley Speedway on Sunday. Trenca timed in 18th quickest, which was seventh best in his group. He then finished where he started – seventh – in a heat race to lock into the 19th starting position for the main event.
Unfortunately, an opening-lap crash knocked the front end out of Trenca’s race car and he was unable to restart the race.
“We passed a few cars in turn one and down the backstretch the car got tight getting into turn three,” he said. “I got into the wall and it took out the front end. There was too much damage to fix it. That was a frustrating way to end the night.”
Trenca will return to action this Friday at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., with the Patriot Sprint Tour.
