Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 24, 2017) – Mark Burch Motorsports put together a pair of stout finishes last weekend in the Midwest, where the team charged from the back to earn a top five in Nebraska before posting a second straight podium at the ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World’ in Iowa.

“We’re at the tip of the iceberg,” said the team’s driver, Danny Lasoski. “We have to keep plugging away at it.”

The action began last Thursday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., where a mechanical problem hampered the team early in the night during the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints event.

“We had a motor gremlin early in the night and by the time we figured it out we missed the heat race,” Lasoski said. “We had to figure something out for the setup for the A Main. Mark went out and looked at the track and we freed the car up. Wherever someone was we could go the opposite way. It was a lot of fun to drive.”

Lasoski charged from 18th to a fourth-place finish, which earned the team the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“We passed for third and the caution came out,” he said. “When we restarted we had a bleeder malfunction and came in with only four pounds of air in the right rear tire. Without that I think we could have gained more, but it was a great rebound after the way we started the night.”

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where Lasoski qualified 13th quickest before he finished second in a heat race. That lined him up sixth for the A Main.

“We got a good start and ran in the top four,” he said. “Another car dropped out so we moved up to third. Every time out we get a little bit better so we’re optimistic about the future.”

It marked the second straight third-place result at Knoxville Raceway for the team and the sixth top five of the season.
