Dover Recovering From Rough Flip With Event at I-80 on the Horizon

Inside Line Promotions – EAGLE, Neb. (July 18, 2017) – Jack Dover is recovering well following a wild ride last Saturday at Eagle Raceway.

Dover, who was driving for Chris Roseland during the 305ci winged sprint car event, charged from ninth to third place during a heat race at the high-banked oval. That lined him up on the outside of the sixth row for the main event.

“About five laps in we got behind a car and we were right on their bumper,” he said. “I couldn’t see what was in front of their car. That driver turned hard left to avoid hitting another car that turned sideways. They turned just in time and I had nowhere to go. Normally I’m really good at looking ahead, but this time I had no time to react. I got my car turned just enough to clip the back of his car with my right front. I went end over end four times I heard.”

The vicious flip ended Dover’s night early with a 19th-place result and sent him to a local hospital for an evaluation.

Dover was released that night and said he is healing well.

He is scheduled to drive for Chris Bowers this Thursday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints. Dover has 12 wins, 19 podiums and 23 top fives in 31 races during 360ci winged sprint car competition at the track throughout the last four-plus seasons.

“We’ve had a lot of good runs there in my car,” he said. “I think we have a chance of winning or being on the podium this week.”
