Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (July 18, 2017) – Trey Starks has a lot of confidence entering the Summer Nationals this Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
Starks and the Gobrecht Motorsports team scored a Pennsylvania Speedweek victory during the most recent visit to the half-mile oval in Mechanicsburg, Pa., after posting a pair of sixth-place results at the track earlier this season.
“Going into this weekend we know we can be competitive,” Starks said. “We have been qualifying good there the last few times. We have all the pieces of the puzzle put together. I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t have a good shot.
“Williams Grove is pretty tough and tricky and technical. It’s tough when you know you have to be pretty much perfect. From a driver’s standpoint the win gives you a ton of confidence knowing that we have a tune-up for the car that has won there in the past. I know I just have to do my job and if I do we should be close.”
Starks is coming off a frustrating outing last weekend with the World of Outlaws at Eldora Speedway during the famed Kings Royal. He finished 11th, seventh and 15th in the B Main each night, respectively, during the tripleheader.
“It wasn’t a great weekend,” he said. “We didn’t have many things go our way and we didn’t take advantage of our opportunities. We struggled with some mechanical problems. We weren’t where we needed to be or where we wanted to be.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Central Pennsylvania this weekend and seeing how we stack up against the World of Outlaws at Williams Grove.”
