Wagner, South Dakota (July 14, 2017) — It took two and a half decades for 360ci sprint car racing to return to the high banks of Wagner Speedway. Twenty-five sprints made their presence at the 3/8 mile facility as a north vs. south shootout between the Nebraska 360 Carpetland & Malvern Bank Sprint Series and Property Solutions of America Midwest Sprint Touring Series.
In his first 360ci sprint car race of the year, Eagle, Nebraska’s, Tyler Drueke took advantage of his front row starting position and took the win at Wagner Speedway in Wagner, South Dakota!
In an inaugural event for both series, a jam packed grandstands, and 25 of the best 360ci sprint car drivers in the midwest, put on a fantastic show to the huge crowd, some of which who have never seen sprint car racing before.
It took several starts to get the field underway in the A main but it was a battle of the top 4 drivers who stole the show. Tyler Drueke, Jason Martin, Cody Ledger, and Jody Rosenboom all battled for the top 4 positions with those drivers trading spots lap after lap. Drueke maintained control of the lead until lap 9 when Jason Martin was able to take advantage of lap traffic and make his way around him. Three laps later, Drueke returned the favor and took the high side in turns 1 and 2 to pass Martin and never looked back. A hard charging Cody Ledger made the low side of the track work to his advantage picking off Jody Rosenboom and then Jason Martin to finish in the 2nd position. Martin was able to hang onto third and Rosenboom finished 4th.
