Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (July 12, 2017) – Jack Dover was on pace for his 11th podium finish of the season last Friday at Jackson Motorplex before a mechanical problem appeared on the final lap.

Dover opened the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series event at the half-mile oval by maneuvering from sixth to third place in a heat race. That locked him into the feature redraw, in which he pulled the highest number – eight – during the random redraw to start the main event eighth.

“We got the new car figured out,” he said. “We worked our way up to second. It took almost the whole race to get up there. Once we got to second it started laying rubber and it was follow the leader the last couple of laps. If the leader got out of the groove I was going to be there to capitalize.”

Unfortunately, Dover developed a mechanical problem going down the backstretch on the final lap. He shut the engine off and coasted to a 13th-place result.

This week’s plan is for Dover to drive Chris Roseland’s 305ci winged sprint car on Saturday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb.

“As much as we’d like to run with our local 360 series, we’re going to take the week off and run the 305 to gear up for the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Nationals,” he said. “We’d really like to run the 360, but we don’t have many more opportunities to make sure the 305 car is ready for the Nationals.”

Dover and Roseland have partnered to earn a pair of wins this season, including one at Eagle Raceway.
