Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (July 10, 2017) – Travis Rilat has a two-race winning streak on the line as he returns to Montana this weekend for a Northwest Challenge Series doubleheader.

Rilat and car owner Richard Saumure will compete on Friday at Electric City Speedway in Great Falls and on Saturday at BMP Speedway in Billings.

“We’ve had a lot of success in Montana,” Rilat said. “I enjoy racing at Electric City Speedway and at BMP Speedway. Plus, it helps when you win there.”

Rilat has done just that at both ovals. He finished fifth in the NSA Series season opener at Electric City Speedway on May 19 before winning the ensuing night. Rilat and Saumure also teamed up to claim the inaugural Northwest Challenge Series event on June 17 at BMP Speedway.

That gives the team a top-five finish during its last 10 races in Montana, including five wins and eight podiums.

“We have a ton of confidence and momentum racing in Montana,” Rilat said. “It seems like no matter where we race over there we unload with a fast car and are competitive out of the box. That makes it a lot easier for a team when you only have to make small adjustments throughout the night rather than take big swings at the setup.”

Rilat enters the weekend leading the Northwest Challenge Series championship standings. He ranks second in the NSA Series standings – only seven points out of the lead.

“It’s kind of funny how I met (Shark owner) Marc Huson when I went up there to Washington for an ASCS National Tour race a few years ago,” Rilat said. “I was wandering around talking on my cell phone and saw a sprint car next door. I walked over, looked around and introduced myself.

“He’s been a great friend. He was instrumental with a support group for me and my family when I was in the hospital up there. He and his wife helped us out in a hard time. As far as his engine skills go, he’s one of the best in the country. There’s only a handful of great engine builders across the country and I consider him one of the best.”
