Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (July 5, 2017) – Jack Dover battled bad luck throughout a busy weekend in Missouri.

“We could never capitalize on the rest of the night after our good heat races and we didn’t have any luck,” he said. “It was just one of those weekends.”

The competition began with Friday’s ASCS Warrior Region event at Callaway Raceway in Fulton being rained out. Dover then ventured to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon on Saturday for his first race at the track in nearly six years.

The ASCS Warrior Region show began with Dover winning a heat race after starting on the outside of the front row. That earned a spot in the feature redraw, in which he pulled the No. 5 to start the main event fifth.

“I didn’t have my car tight enough,” he said. “I could tell early on and tried to salvage what I could. We fell back slowly to eighth.”

Dover’s eighth-place result marked his 15th top 10 in his 20th race this season.

The final ASCS Warrior Region event of the weekend was on Sunday at Double X Speedway in California. Dover powered from fifth to win a heat race and make the feature redraw. This time he pulled the No. 1 to start the main event on the pole.

“We were really good in the heat and didn’t change much for the feature,” he said. “We ran second the whole race. I was side by side with Randy Martin for the lead a couple of times. I was waiting until the time was right to do a slide job. It was a one-groove lane around the top of the track. I got impatient and clipped the infield wall coming out of turn four and broke the front end with three laps to go.”

Dover was in contention for his eighth win of the season when the late-race incident relegated him to a 13th-place result. The damage forced the team to bring out the spare car for Monday’s weekend finale at Lake Ozark Speedway.

Dover finished where he started – second – in a heat race, which lined him up on the inside of the sixth row for the main event.

“We went from 11th to fifth and had a restart just after the halfway point of the race,” he said. “A lap after the restart a bolt broke on the front end and that ended our weekend early.”

Dover was credited with a 19th-place finish.

He will return to action this Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, S.D. He has won at both tracks twice this season.
