Taylor Snags Sprint Car Podium Finish, Looking Forward to Midget Doubleheader

Inside Line Promotions – CALHAN, Colo. (June 28, 2017) – Zac Taylor scored another podium finish with his family owned 305ci sprint car last Saturday at El Paso County Raceway, giving him a ton of confidence as he prepares for a busy weekend back behind the wheel of a midget.

Taylor’s night began with a heat race win, setting him up to start sixth in the feature.

“According to the transponder times I had the fastest car on the track,” he said. “I started sixth and got to third right away and then got passed and ran fourth for three laps before I got back to third. I just needed more room to move around. The track was pretty much one lane around the top.”

The third-place result was Taylor’s sixth top five of the season.

Taylor said he has a lot of confidence as he gets back behind the wheel of the Todd Henry owned midget for two shows this weekend. The team will compete on Friday at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, Colo., and Saturday at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, Colo. Both shows are sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association.

Taylor, who is fourth in the RMMRA championship standings, picked up his first midget feature win at I-76 Speedway on June 3.

“Todd has been on the phone with Advanced Racing Shocks talking about ways to improve the handling of the car,” he said. “They have figured a lot of things out. It’s a learning process and I’m excited to get back out there and see what the car will do.”
