LEDUC, Alberta (June 23, 2017) Taking on the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour’s Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek for the first time, Canada’s Skylar Gee mounted a noteworthy performance with an overall eighth place finish in the final Speedweek standings.

“It was really nice. We worked hard the week before to make sure we were ready for Speedweek and it paid off for us. Every race track we went to was pretty much a new track for us and I felt we did really well”

Starting off at West Texas Raceway, Skylar ended the night 10th, with the following night at Route 66 Motor Speedway ending with a seventh place performance. Duplicating that result on Tuesday at the Devil’s Bowl, the team moved to Lawton Speedway on Wednesday with an 11th place finish.

Sixteenth on Thursday and Creek, the team rebounded slightly the following night at Randolph County Raceway. The week capped off with a ninth place finish at Lucas Oil Speedway.

Asked which night he felt was his overall best success, Skylar pointed to the Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

“We ran fourth for most of the race until we had a late race restart. Just make a few mistakes and it cost me a few spots, but that was the best I’ve ever felt at that place.”

Into Dirt Cup, Skylar put his Carlan Services/Pat Beck Motorsports No. 99 in the show on Thursday night. Crossing 13th, Gee will continue his quest on Friday, June 23.

“I love racing up here and we always have pretty good runs. I’m excited to see what we can do.”
