Inside Line Promotions – ALGER, Wash. (June 15, 2017) – Trey Starks is returning to Central Pennsylvania this weekend after spending the last two weeks racing in the Northwest.
Starks and Gobrecht Motorsports will compete on Friday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., and Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.
“I’m really excited to get back to Central PA this weekend,” he said. “It will be my debut at Selinsgrove Speedway and we ran really well during the Weikert Memorial at Port Royal the last time out so I can’t wait.”
While Starks hasn’t raced at Selinsgrove Speedway, he has earned a pair of top fives at Port Royal Speedway in 2017. Starks scored a runner-up result during the famed Weikert Memorial on May 29 after he produced a fourth-place finish during the opening night of the event.
“Running so well during the Weikert really gives our team a ton of confidence,” he said. “We put together two strong nights during the event and are looking forward to doing the same thing this Saturday.”
Starks is coming off a seventh-place finish last Saturday at Skagit Speedway, where he made his season debut in his family car. He opened the night by qualifying seventh quickest before winning a heat race.
“We didn’t have the best qualifying time and that set us up further back in the main event than we wanted,” he said. “We’d like to be competing for wins whenever we race back home, but to take home a top 10 during our first race of the season in the family car isn’t bad.”
