The Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprint Series presented by Malvern Bank are coming off a stellar performance weekend by series drivers. I truly believe that this series has some of the most talented 360ci sprint car drivers in the world.
Jack Dover comes off of the weekend with 2 wins and a 2nd place finish. Cody Ledger also had a stellar weekend with 3 top 5 finishes to add to his resume. Seth Brahmer, Ryan Roberts, T.J. Artz, and John Klabunde had feature appearances during the course of the 3 day event. It goes to show the talent we have by putting in a majority of our drivers, who made the trip to Minnesota, into the A features each night. This didn't come easy for some as 35-39 cars showed each night in the 360ci division. Congratulations to all of you and your accomplishments.
We now trek forward to the weekend ahead as we come back to Nebraska and head to Junction Motor Speedway Saturday, June 10th as we welcome the NCRA series in a co-sanctioned event. We a rainout at the track in May, this will be the first stop for both series at the newly configured 4/10 mile track this year. The track was shortened from a 4/10 mile to a 3/8 mile during the winter months. This should create much closer racing for the fans. Don Droud Jr. has dominated the track in 2016, but with the new configuration, it looks to level the playing field with the remainder of the teams. Ryan Roberts, who sits 2nd in series points, is another driver who has had great success at the facility. Roberts has 1 win this season but chalked up 2 wins during the 2015 season at JMS. Look for one of these two guys to be serious contenders this weekend.
Junction Motor Speedway is located just west of McCool Junction, Nebraska along U.S. Highway 81. Pits open at 4 and racing is set for 7. Grandstand admission is $15 and pits are $30. For more information visit www.junctionmotorspeedway.com.
