Inside Line Promotions – LILLIAN, Texas (May 23, 2017) – Zane Lawrence is scheduled to tackle an ASCS Gulf South Region tripleheader in Texas this Memorial Day Weekend.
“I’m really excited for this weekend,” he said. “This weekend is like the Knoxville Nationals for us. Everybody works so hard for this weekend because it’s a huge points weekend for us.”
The 15th annual Memorial Day Classic action begins on Friday at RPM Speedway in Crandall before shifting to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite on Saturday. Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore hosts the finale on Sunday.
“We’ve had pretty decent runs and captured some wins at RPM and Devil’s Bowl before so I feel good about those tracks,” he said. “But Lone Star is the track we need to work on. We’ve had some struggles there, but hopefully we will turn that around this weekend.”
Lawrence was victorious during a 305ci winged sprint car race at RPM Speedway in 2015 and he placed second at the track last year. He has produced numerous top fives at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in recent years with a charge from 18th to 10th earlier this season to earn the Hard Charger Award during a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event. Lawrence placed seventh and fifth, respectively, during two events at Lone Star Speedway last season.
He enters this weekend ranked second in the ASCS Gulf South Region championship standings. Lawrence has produced three top fives and six top 10s during ASCS Gulf South Region competition this season.
