Inside Line Promotions – HUMBOLDT, Kan. (May 15, 2017) – Seth Bergman produced his fifth top-five result of the season last Friday during an ASCS Red River Region event at Humboldt Speedway.

Bergman opened the night by advancing from third to second place in a heat race. That earned enough points to lock into the feature redraw, in which he pulled the second-highest number – seven – to start the main event on the inside of the fourth row.

“It was like an ASCS National Tour show there,” he said. “I think there were six of us National drivers in the redraw so it certainly didn’t help that we drew the No. 7. I had a really good car though. We were able to pick a few off and at one point we got up to third, but the cautions didn’t fall our way. I think that was a good night for our team overall.”

Bergman finished in the fourth position.

The weekend began on Thursday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. Bergman placed second in a heat race after starting on the pole. That locked him into the main event, but was one position shy of advancing into the feature redraw.

“We just weren’t very good in the main event,” he said. “It was tough to pass out there, but I think if you had your setup right you could move forward a bit. We were just too tight and were always racing around other cars.”

Bergman battled for a top 10 throughout the feature before ending 11th. He dropped one position in the ASCS National Tour championship standings to sixth, but is only 36 points out of third place.

Bergman is scheduled to compete this Friday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., and Saturday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., with the ASCS Red River Region.
