Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (May 9, 2017) – Joe Trenca is venturing to a pair of vastly different tracks this weekend.
The Mucci Motorsports competitor will compete in a 410ci winged sprint car on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., before tackling a Patriot Sprint Tour event in a 360ci winged sprint car on Saturday at Woodhull Raceway in Woodhull, N.Y.
“We’ve been getting better each time out in the 410,” Trenca said. “Williams Grove is a tough track for me to get down driving-wise. There’s not a track like it that we race on. We still have to get the car better there, too. We’re doing everything we can to get better, but I think it just takes time and lots of laps.”
Trenca placed seventh in the B Main during his lone start at the track earlier this season. His career-best result at the half-mile oval is 15th last season.
Saturday will mark Trenca’s first visit to Woodhull Raceway since May of 2014, when he ended with a career-best 12th-place finish at the high-banked bullring. He also finished 13th at the oval during his debut in 2013.
“It’s really small and banked like Talladega,” he said. “It’s really hard to pass. The draw is going to be critical.”
Trenca enters the event ranked fifth in the Patriot Sprint Tour championship standings after placing eighth during the season-opening event last month.
