Taylor Eager for Warm Weather to Create More Racing Opportunities

Inside Line Promotions – CALHAN, Colo. (May 4, 2017) – Zac Taylor is hoping Mother Nature finally gets her act together so he can not only get back behind the wheel of his 305ci winged sprint car, but his midget ride as well as he works toward his goal of winning multiple championships in 2017.

Taylor also wants to erase the memory of his last outing, which started with hopes of a feature win and ended on a wrecker on April 22 at El Paso County Raceway.

“The first three months in Colorado it was like 60 and 70 degrees and once race season hit it’s been cold and snowy and rainy,” he said. “Hopefully the weather will warm up and we can get our race season in full swing.

“The time off hasn’t been all bad though. It gave us time to get things in order. I clipped an infield tractor tire the last time out and it bent the front axle. I was on the pole of the feature and it was the first lap. Good thing we sold a lot of t-shirts to help pay for the repairs.”

Taylor plans to get back to racing on May 13 at El Paso County Raceway with the Blood Sweet Tears (BST) and Colorado Alliance Tour (CAT) sprint cars. And he’s even more excited as he gets to debut the Todd Henry owned midget with the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA) that evening.

Taylor hopes to take a big step in his goal of winning the RMMRA championship after finishing second in the championship standings last year. He is also aiming to earn the El Paso County Raceway track title along with championships at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, Colo., and Lamar Speedway in Lamar, Colo.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of running both the sprint and midget on the same night,” Taylor said. “Todd Henry has put together a new chassis with a new motor for the midget and I’m very excited to see what it can do.

“I also can’t wait to get back to the track and hand out some samples from SuperClean.”
