Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (May 2, 2017) – Travis Rilat will debut a new paint scheme this weekend when he tackles an ASCS Gulf South Region doubleheader in his home state of Texas.
Rilat is scheduled to compete on Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco for the 2nd annual Gene Adamchik Memorial before racing on Saturday at Gator Motorplex in Willis for the 5th annual Nolan Wren Memorial.
“We’re going after our first win of the season and I think we can achieve that this weekend,” he said. “We’ve run well at both tracks so I think we’ll be a contender each time out.”
Rilat placed second at Heart O’ Texas Speedway last season during his lone visit.
“We haven’t been able to race there very often the past few years, but we were strong last year,” he said. “It’s a high-banked bullring so you have to be aggressive and up on the wheel each lap.”
Rilat was on pace to earn at least a top five during his only race at Gator Motorplex last season when a mechanical problem relegated him to the pits early.
“We have three podiums this season so we have a car that can run up front,” he said. “Our goal each night is to have a strong heat race performance to make the feature redraw. If we can do that we will be in contention to win.”
