Inside Line Promotions – JEFFERSON, S.D. (April 26, 2017) – Jack Dover posted his third top-10 finish of the season last Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway during a Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series co-sanctioned event.
“Our goal was to go in there and win the race, but it wasn’t in the cards,” he said. “We drew a really good pill, but that didn’t help on Saturday.”
Dover, who entered the event with a win during five of his last seven races at the track, drew the No. 2 pill to start the night on the pole of a heat race. He led the distance to win the heat – his first of the season.
“We did the best we could, but starting on the pole you don’t have an opportunity to earn passing points,” he said.
Dover ranked 11th in overall points, which was three positions shy of making the feature redraw. He started the main event on the inside of the sixth row.
“Track position was key and if we were able to make the feature redraw and start near the front I think we could have maintained,” he said. “It was tough racing in the middle of the pack. The track was pretty challenging.”
Dover picked up a pair of positions to earn a ninth-place result, which marks his third consecutive top 10.
He is scheduled to return to action this Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway.
