Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (April 19, 2017) – Caleb Helms and more than 40 other top sprint car teams in the region made the trip to Attica Raceway Park last Saturday for an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions event.

Helms, who won his first career feature at Attica Raceway Park last month, timed in 12th quickest overall in qualifying. His qualifying result, which was seventh quickest in his group, lined him up on the inside of the fourth row for a heat race.

“We were in a tough group for qualifying,” he said. “We had a good car, but we were behind the eight ball a little bit to start off with.”

Helms finished seventh in the heat race and he was relegated to the B Main, which he won to transfer into the 21st starting position in the main event for the second week in a row.

“I wasn’t really comfortable so we made some changes after qualifying and the heat race and slowly started getting better,” he said. “We were much better for the B Main and were able to still transfer into the feature.”

Helms continued to work forward during the main event as he ended with a 13th-place finish.

“We kept making changes trying to make the car better and I think we went a little too far for the feature,” he said. “We were able to make ground and pass some cars, but at the same time the cars we passed would find a better line and get back around me. I still think we could have gained a few more positions, but we did what we could with what we had.”

Helms will travel to Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., this Friday before returning to Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions action Saturday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio.

“I’m excited to go to Lernerville,” he said. “We wanted to go somewhere else to race and get some more laps logged so we picked there. It’s a fun race track and not too far from us. I’m also pretty excited to go back to Wayne County Speedway. Jason and Kristin Flory put so much work into that track and it makes for some great racing. I’m glad to see them on the All Star schedule for another season.”
