Inside Line Promotions – SEDALIA, Mo. (April 18, 2017) – Seth Bergman is eyeing a big prize this weekend when he heads to Kansas for the Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.
The two-day event, which runs Friday and Saturday at 81 Speedway in Park City, pays $15,000 to the winner of the NCRA and ASCS Red River Region co-sanctioned main event.
“Someone is going to come out of next weekend with a nice addition to their bank account,” he said. “I think we can be a contender and it’d certainly help our race team to come away with a big prize like that.”
Bergman won during his most recent visit to the track in May of 2015. He also placed sixth there that same season and he posted a third-place result in 2013.
“We haven’t raced there a lot, but we have produced some good laps and strong results in the past so that’s always a confidence booster,” he said.
Bergman is coming off a frustrating finish to a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event last Saturday at Missouri State Fair Speedway.
He charged from seventh to third place in a heat race to earn a spot in the feature redraw. Bergman pulled the No. 6 to start the main event on the outside of the third row. He battled for at top five most of the race before a mechanical problem sidelined him on Lap 18.
Bergman, who finished 17th, ranks fifth in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings. However, he is only 88 points behind second place.
