Micro Sprint Ace Newell Invading 2nd annual Midget Round Up at Airport Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (April 18, 2017) – One of the top micro sprint competitors in the Midwest is tackling the 2nd annual Midget Round Up next month.

Jeffrey Newell, who hails from Tulsa, Okla., will spearhead a talented group of drivers who will compete in the non-wing micro sprint portion of the TBJ Promotions event, which is hosted by Airport Raceway in Garden City, Kan., on May 27-28. Both nights pay $1,000 to win.

“Every week when you look at the previous weekend’s results you see Jeffrey has won at least once if not multiple times,” TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. said. “Not only will the midget side of the event showcase great competitors, the non-wing micros will be a tremendous battle each night.”

Newell, who is 23-years-old, said he has won nine championships and has more than 300 feature victories, including a whopping 34 triumphs last season. However, the 2nd annual Midget Round Up will be his first time ever competing at Airport Raceway.

“It’s one of the most exciting races for me because it’s not very often you get to race for $1,000 to win both nights,” he said. “It’s nice to go there knowing both nights pay a good amount.

“Tony puts a lot of hard work into everything. We’re going to show up and it’s going to be a great show. The biggest thing is that you’re out of there by 10 p.m. All the fans get to come down to the pits after the races because it’s not midnight. It’s awesome to see those faces down there and talk with the fans.”

On top of the stout micro sprint payout, the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series and the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association will duke it out in a $2,000-to-win main event each night and the Colorado Lightning Sprints will also be racing both nights.

The event festivities begin on May 26 when Jax Sports Grille in Garden City will host a Friday evening pre-race party.

Event start times, pre-sale tickets and additional info about the 2nd annual Midget Round Up will be released in the near future.

TBJ Promotions would like to thank the Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Burtis Motor Company, Mid-America Millwright, The Tunnel Car Wash, Johnson Septic Tank Services, Jax Sports Grille, Driven Midwest and Maupin’s Truck Service for their continued support of the event.
