What looked to be a rain out all week the storm split in two over Sharon and racing was on! Twenty-three cars would enter into the pill draw and Sodeman would come out with an outside pole starting position in the third heat. From the drop of the green flag Sodeman pulled away from the field, but with a full straight away lead the spun out from a broken rear axle.
It was a test of speed and endurance for the S & S team to get back to the shop in North Jackson switch out equipment and make it back in time for the feature. The team was pulling back into the pits as the intermission was clearing off the track. With just enough time to start the car and come back to the pits to fully strap in, Sodeman was on the track ready to race. Because he was unable to finish his heat Sodeman had to start the feature on the tail, in the 23rd spot. With a large amount of traffic from the beginning Sodeman made his way through the field up into the 7th spot. With 5th and 6th in sight Sodeman fought to make a move, but with lap traffic in the way Sodeman took 7th home.
