Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (April 10, 2017) – Big Game Motorsports and Kerry Madsen are heading to Knoxville Raceway this Saturday for its 64th annual season opener.
Madsen, who is the 2005 track champion at the half-mile oval in Knoxville, Iowa, has 19 career wins at the oval.
“It’s a fun place to race and it’s always exciting when you know you get to race at Knoxville,” he said.
Madsen picked up a pair of victories at the track last season, when he finished with five top fives and seven top 10s in nine races. That also extended a streak of multiple top fives each season for the last four years.
In fact, Madsen has three wins, 11 podiums, 18 top fives and 20 top 10s during his last 26 races at the track dating back to 2012.
“I’ve always enjoyed bigger tracks,” he said. “I think Knoxville is a pretty tricky track. It has its own intricacies. Once you learn what you need, the secrets to the track so to speak, then you’ve always got it.”
This will be his first race at the track with Big Game Motorsports, which has captured the last two owners championships at Knoxville Raceway.
“I know I’ll have a good car,” Madsen said. “Going into it we want to be fast, qualify well and we want to race well. Hopefully that leads to a win or podium.”
