FLUD WINS 3, GENTRY, PURSLEY, AND MCINTOSH CAPITALIZE ON MICRO SERIES OPENER

Tulsa, OKLA (April 8, 2017) Frank Flud sweeps A-Class, Non-Wing, and Outlaw, while Joshua Gentry wins Junior Sprints, Daison Pursley takes home the win in Restricted, and Bobby McIntosh capitalizes in Sportsman during the 2017 Creek County Speedway Weekly Micro Series opener.

It was the Frank Flud show in 3 classes. Flud started his night off by pulling out front early in the A-Class Feature event. Flud lead all 20 laps of the feature event. Trailing Flud for the entirety of the feature race, Alison Slaton managed a 2nd place finish after starting 2nd next to Flud, who started on the pole. Hank Davis made a move for 3rd place, making a pass on fourth place finisher Holly Hollan on lap 11, while Alex Sewell, after starting 9th, finished fifth.
Joshua Gentry made his way into victory lane after a grueling 15 lap Junior Sprint feature event. Starting in the fourth position, Gentry had his work cut out for him, making passes on Jake Mosely, Hayden Mabe, and Journey Hunt. Gentry found himself leading the race on lap 7 after a slip up made by Mosely on lap 6. Mosely was able to maintain hiss 2nd place position, while Mabe kept his 3rd place finishing spot, after starting 2nd. Carson Silva made his way into fourth while Hunt fell to fifth.

The Restricted class found Daison Pursley leading the way at the end of the 20 lap feature event. Pursley, who started on the pole, was challenged early on by Rees Day Moran, but was unsuccessful. Gage Laney started in the 6th position, and made his way into the runner up spot by lap 5. Laney tried to put his bid in for the win, but couldn't get close enough to challenge Pursley. Preston Scheulen started 10th, and came across the line in third, while Kale Drake was able to hold on to his fourth place starting position. Aiden Silva finished fifth after starting 7th, having to deal with traffic and a tough battle with Phillip Cordova, which spanned several laps.

After a green-to-checkered, 20-lap Outlaw feature event, we found that familiar #81 in victory lane. Frank Flud capitalized on minor slip up made by Kevin Bayer to take the lead on lap 11. Flud, who started fourth, was able to make a pass on Harley Hollan on lap 3 to take the runner up position. Bayer, who started on the pole, was looking like he was going to pull away from the field early on, got caught in lap traffic on lap 10, allowing Flud to make the move on Bayer. After completing the pass, Flud was immediately re-challenged by Flud, but was unable to complete the pass. Harley Hollan was able to salvage a 3rd place finish, while Hank Davis finished fourth. Cole Roberts moved up from his 7th starting position to finish fifth.

Bobby McIntosh was the victor at the end of the 20-lap Sportsman feature event. Troy Minton started out strong, after starting on the pole, but was challenged and over taken by Ryan Cody, who started on the outside of the front row. Ryan Cody was well on his way to winning the feature race, but was involved in a late-race crash involving lapped traffic. McIntosh, who was running 2nd at the time inherited the lead when the green flag flew again on lap 16. McIntosh went on to win the race, followed closely by Minton. Kayla Ward, worked her way past 3rd place starter Justin Simpson, finishing 3rd, while Matt Cash drove his machine to a fourth place finish after starting on the back row of the starting grid. Simpson finished fifth after being overtaken by Cash.

The Non-Wing race saw Frank Flud, for the last time of the evening, in victory lane. Starting on the pole, Flud drove his Driven Midwest machine the 20-lap distance, green to checkered, to victory lane. After being challenged by 3rd place starter and finisher Daniel Shaffer, Davis went on to finish in his starting position of 2nd. Alex Sewell was the biggest mover of the race, starting 11th and racing his machine to a fourth place finish. Zac Moody finished fifth, after losing one position to Sewell on lap 14.
