Mingus Welcomes Apple Girl Art to Race Team

Inside Line Promotions – HURON, Ohio (April 7, 2017) – Kevin Mingus is new to his sprint car racing career on dirt and so is Katie Buttera and her business Apple Girl Art. The two will join forces in 2017 in a move that will benefit both parties.

Apple Girl Art specializes in stainless steel rings and bracelets made to look like wrenches along with other custom-made bracelets, metal race car wall art, t-shirt quilts, wood yard flowers and much more.

“Katie has done a fantastic job of creating a business that caters to the females in racing,” Mingus said. “Everything she creates is handmade. It’s really neat to have someone in the racing community doing something for female fans. I’m very impressed with her work.”

Buttera is just as excited about the partnership with Mingus and DB3 Imaging, who helps Mingus with his marketing.

“This is a partnership with DB3 Imaging to help me get my brand bigger and into more markets,” she said. “I come from a drag racing background and getting on board with Kevin’s team gives me an opportunity to branch out to other forms of racing. I’m excited to get involved in dirt racing.”

After posting an 11th-place finish during his season opener two weeks ago at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, Mingus is more than chomping at the bit to get back to racing.

“It was the best finish we’ve gotten at Attica and for our first night out we couldn’t ask for much more,” he said. “I’ve been racing the iRacing game and honestly it helps with reflexes. I need all the seat time I can get.”

Unfortunately, Mother Nature has already intervened and wiped out this weekend’s races at Attica Raceway Park. Mingus said his sprint car will get a vinyl face-lift next week as the new graphics will be installed.

“It will surprise a lot of people,” he said. “It will look completely different than the powder blue we had last year. I’m excited about the look, especially with all the great marketing partners we have added this year.”
