Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (April 5, 2017) – Jack Dover will attempt to start the 2017 season for a second time this weekend at his home track.
Dover, whose original season-opening event in Kansas was rained out two weeks ago, is slated to compete this Friday and Saturday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints.
“It’s my home track so I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “It’s fast and right around the top most of the night so it suits my driving style.”
Dover, who is the two-time defending Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints champion, has an impressive track record at the high-banked oval. He has 11 wins, 17 podium finishes, 20 top fives and 23 top 10s during 27 races in a 360ci winged sprint car at the track since the start of the 2013 season.
“We have a good chance this weekend,” he said. “We have all new stuff and a fresh engine. The last couple of years we started the season with a motor that had 10 to 12 nights on it.”
Dover won his season opener at I-80 Speedway in 2013.
“It’d be huge because last year we struggled at the start of the season,” he said. “To go out and win a race your first weekend would be awesome and would set the tone for the season.”
