26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (April 3rd, 2017) – After being able to pick up top 10 finishes in the first two races of the year while fighting break issues, AJ Miller felt confident going into Saturday night’s Non-
Wing race at Canyon Speedway Park.
“My dad and I spent a lot of late nights in the shop the last two weeks,” said Miller. “We spent a lot of time making changes to fix the problem with the breaks and talking over different setups with my cousin Colton.”
A high pill draw would line Miller up 6th in the final Micro heat of the night. Miller worked his way to 3rd after two cars in front of him made contact from there he would chase down the 2nd place car and make the pass for the position with 2 laps to go. The 2nd place result would rank Miller first in passing points, placing him 6th in the Feature lineup after the invert.
Miller would quickly move into 4th once the Feature got underway and would spend most of the Feature in that spot.
“The car was fast all night, but we struggled a getting forward drive out of the corner,” said Miller. “That hurt me getting a good run at the win, but all in all we had a really good night.”
Miller would manage to finish the Feature in 3rd, picking up his first top 5 finish of the season.
Miller Boys Racing will be back in action, with the wings bolted back on, April 14th and 15th at Canyon Speedway Park.
