Saturday night the Lonestar 600's presented by K&K Earthworks pulled into Gator Motorplex to an already full pits for the Enduro that would take place after our feature races. 44 Winged 600's and 10 Restrictor's checked into the nights events. With the 600's, Restrictor's and Factory stocks the only classes on the docket for the nights races.

We were faced with a fast paced night and boy was it fast. The 600's were up first with 6 heat races. Some great passing and great racing on the newly widened and newly surfaced track. Next out was the 2 restrictor heats. They would as well have 2 great races. The 600's would be faced with not much time to wrench on there cars. The 2 B-Main's would be posted and leave the drivers scurrying to get in there cars as the factory stocks would finish up. It was time to go back out for the B-Mains. Matt McDade would lead the field for the first B-Main. After the dust settled Wyatt Rector would pass 4 cars and be the winner of B-Main number one. Out next was B-Main number 2. Wyatt Bruce in his first Lonestar 600's race would start on the pole. He would pull of to mechanical problems soon into the race. Karson Battarbee would jump to the lead and claim the win.

That would set the field for the 24 car A-Main. The Winged 600's would filter onto the track. We had to wait for a few drivers that just came off the track from their B-Main. Steven Padgett and Collin Traylor would pace around the track on the front row as we got all the cars lined up. Steven would take the green to make his run at a victory to find himself slowed by a first turn caution. We would get lined back up and try again. Steven would step on the gas a second time to lose the drag race this time to Collin. Collin would lose that lead soon to a charging Jacob Lucas. Who traveled to no mans land and railed around the top. Chase Randall would follow Jacob around the top and pull up next to Jacob to pass him. But would get shut down due to a spun car. Jake would keep the 1 spot. But Chase would have to give his spot back to Collin as it was not a completed lap. The cars would get single file for the restart. The race would get interesting as Collin would charge hard and try to regain the lead from Jacob. Collin would try the bottom line and Jacob would try the top on the nice, several line Gator Motorplex. Collin would get the lead but the momentum Jacob had coming out of the corner would gain him the lead back quickly. Jake would stay in the lead. With Collin on his back bumper. As the yellow would wave again for the 3rd time. A spun car in turn 2. Jacob, Collin and Chase were your top 3. Jacob would lead the field again to the restart. This time Jacob would not get the start he would have liked. Collin would pass him on the bottom and Chase would pass him on the top. Making a 3 wide drag race down the back stretch. Chase would jump out to the lead. But unfortunately that would not stick as the caution would come out again for another spun car. Jacob would get the lucky break and get the lead back. Jacob would not lose the lead on his 4th restart. Jacob would lead the field for 3 more yellow all due to spins. Jacob would take the green one last time with James McNeil on his bumper and they would duke it out for the final laps. James would try his best to overtake Jacob. But just couldn't pull it off. Jacob would put his car in victory lane. Our Dragon Fly Aviation's $50 Hard Charger will be split between Raleigh Shepherd and Isaiah Garcia. They both passed 11 cars. Making it a tie for the night.

Out next were the Restrictor's. Chase Randall and Maverick Elkins would lead the field into turn 4 and take the green. Chase would jump out front early. He would be overtaken by Jarret Hjorth a few laps later. Maverick would pull of the race track with a flat tire. The yellow would fly for a spun car. The field would line back up and Jarret would take the green. The remainder of the race would stay green. Jarret would set his sites on the checkers and with 2 to go he would be faced with a decision of which way to go around the lapped traffic. Chase would be right there to gain on any mistakes. Jarret would choose to go low and it was not the correct choice. He would be forced to go down below the tires to avoid hitting them. Chase would pass the lapped car and take the lead. Chase would stay out front for the white flag and take the checkers with Jarret coming in second. Chase would drive his 9 car to victory lane.

Congrats to the winners. Also, we would like to thank all the drivers and crew that stuck it out all night. We at Lonestar 600's apologize for the heat confusion as we had a glitch in our line up system. Thank you to each and everyone of you for being patient with us. And for being on your toes and ready at any given time. Over all, we had a successful night of racing!

Next up Gulf Coast Speedway April 8th Winged 600's and Restrictor's.

See ya next weekend.
