Inside Line Promotions – BURLINGTON, Tenn. (March 14, 2017) – Brandon Hanks is invading Devil’s Bowl Speedway this weekend with a goal of consistency at the 44th annual Spring Nationals.
Hanks will compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday and Saturday at the oval in Mesquite, Texas, which has recently undergone a track renovation.
“We’ve run pretty well there and I’ve heard they changed up the track a bit,” he said. “I think their intention is to make the track wider. The idea of it is a good idea and hopefully it will create better racing.”
Hanks earned his career-best result of 11th place at the track in 2015.
“We’ve had some pretty good cars, but have lacked luck to be honest,” he said. “Last year we were running in the top five or six and the right front steering arm broke and we had to pull in because I couldn’t steer the car.
“I remember one of the better nights. I started in the top four in 2014 and was running third. About four laps in the ring and pinion broke in my rear end and I had to pull in. It’s things like that that seems to happen at Devil’s Bowl. We’ve had good speed. We just need a little luck.”
Hanks is aiming for his first career top 10 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway and he said this weekend will provide a good opportunity to accomplish that feat.
“The goal is always to win, but to make the show and be in the top 10 would make a good weekend,” he said.
