PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE MESSAGE.....
The Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint 410 series has a membership meeting this Sunday, March 12th, 3pm at Friends on Forest Home in Milwaukee. We'll have the TV on for NASCAR Vegas race too. Truly do have lots of information to relay and truly ask that team represenatives make every effort to attend. I know these meetings don't have the meaning they used to, but there truly is much info to get out prior to our fast approaching April shows and having this knowledge will be beneficial to everyone. We made some format changes and want teams to understand the changes to avoid confusion on opening night. Plus it is an opportunity to get memberships as without question memberships increase April 1, so take advantage of the discounted pricing now.... $200 for Gold, $50 for standard. Prices increase $50 on Gold and $25 on standard April 1. Also, I have received our initial tire order, and can make arrangements with teams to pick up tires before or after meeting as our warehouse facility is nearby our meeting location. And transponder orders can be taken, or refurbished ones which we just received back from mfg will be for sale at meeting. Remember, we are asking that series regulars own their own. Transponders will no longer be handed out at no charge. We will continue to keep some, however they will be rented by the race. IRA, like Allstars and USAC, plus most WI area tracks utilize the Westhold transponder. Communication is critical and this is one of the last opportunities for all of us to get on same page. Have insurance info for drivers as well as owners that I really want to get out to our teams. I want drivers to understand the process and to have the knowledge of what else is available on top of what we offer. And team owners, there are some reasonably priced options to insure your equipment... both in the shop and while on the road.
Lastly, I'm asking for support in getting some very well deserving people into the SE WI Short Track Hall of Fame. For those on the ballot, this is a big honor. 35 nominees appear on the ballot with only 10 being inducted, and this is a stout class with the likes of a Dick Trickle appearing on the noninee list. I am asking for the support for a few that are not typical to the list, but they excelled in their unique field and absolutely deserve this honor. While there are several deserving candidates, I am particularly requesting your vote for a particular few which include the safety pioneer in our region Gil Radtke who spent 45 years going up and down the road trying to keep racers safe (including many with us.. and hopefully a few more too), the late Harry Neitzel and his partner Rick Lemanski who appear on the ballot together under R&H Enterprises for their years servicing the racing community and our series for so many years. There are many deserving nominees on the ballot this year and others who would represent IRA in the HOF well include Mike Frost, Mike Babicz, and Gary Schlafer. Ballots appear in the Vintage Modified Stock Car Newsletter, and you must be a member to vote. To join, send a check for $20 payable to: Vintage Modified Stock Car 3321 S. 54th St Milwaukee, WI 53219. Ballots (LIKE OUR MEMBERSHIPS) are due by April 1. So get your subscription in and vote. You can also check out Southeastern Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame Good cause, wonderful venue.
Truly hope to see as many team reps as possible Sunday. It's much easier to explain things to the group versus everyone individually over the phone or via email.
Thanks,
Steve
