Peoria, AZ | March 8, 2017 – Kicking off his 2017 season on Saturday night, Phoenix, Arizona’s Jarrett Martin traveled to Canyon Speedway Park for the March Meltdown with the Power 600 Series. Scoring a heat race victory in his new Pace Chassis, Metric Cycles Racing Engines No. 20AZ, Martin backed that up by finishing the night with a podium finish of third in the feature.
“The car was really good early when the track was around the bottom, but once I had to move up higher we were too tight,” said Martin. “We were definitely fast out of the box with the new car and figured out a couple of things with it.”
Advancing from third-to-first in heat race action, the 20-year old earned a fifth-place starting position for the feature event. Storming into the third spot early on, Martin worked meticulously as he maneuvered his way into the runner-up slot. Just past halfway, however, the No. 20AZ would fall back into third as the preferred line moved further up the track. Martin would hang on to his podium spot to earn a feature finish of third.
