Phoenix, AZ | March 3, 2017 – With his 2017 season beginning on Saturday night at Peoria, Arizona’s Canyon Speedway, Phoenix native, Jarrett Martin is set to kick off a huge year. With 32 races scheduled, the 20-year old micro sprint competitor will be tackling events at Arizona’s Canyon & Wildcat Raceway and California’s Dixon, Delta, Plaza Park & Lemoore Raceway before returning with a vengeance to the 33rd annual Tulsa Shootout in Oklahoma during December.
“Last year we showed great speed and we were fast most nights out, but just had some consistency issues,” said Martin. “This season we’re looking to be at the front every single week and have good showings out of town in California and at the Shootout.”
Martin, a former Arizona Non-Wing Champion in 2014, will primarily be competing in-state at Peoria’s Canyon Speedway and Tucson’s Wildcat Raceway. With 17 race nights at Canyon and six trips to Wildcat on the schedule, Martin is primed to be in contention for this year’s championship as well.
Outside of the “Grand Canyon State,” Martin will be traveling to California for eight races this year. Starting out with Plaza Park Raceway’s Outlaw Nationals on June 23-24, Martin will receive some valuable laps around the Visalia 1/5th mile ahead of California Speedweek. Taking on the prestigious CA Speedweek from June 27th – July 1st, Martin will battle the best of the best at Dixon Speedway on Tuesday, Delta Speedway on Wednesday, Plaza Park on Friday and Lemoore Raceway on Saturday. Martin’s final trip to the “Golden State” will come on November 17-18, when he returns to Plaza Park for a two-day Turkey Shootout.
The year will finally conclude with the 33rd annual Tulsa Speedway from December 26th-31st. A weeklong extravaganza held inside Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Expo Center, the Shootout hauls in over 1,000 entries from all over the nation.
Martin would like to extend a special thanks to Streaker Racing, K Corp, Pace Chassis, 26 Promotions, MyRacePass, The RaceShack and Paint by Steve & Bell for their continued support!
