In 1939 the Auto Racing Drivers Club was formed to promote and preserve midget racing in the northeast and it’s been flat out and riding the cushion ever since!!
The ARDC has seen resurgence in recent years with an influx of young drivers from go karts and 600 sprint classes. These young talented drivers bring a no holds bar driving style that has become synonymous with the type of on the edge of your seat racing excitement that the ARDC is known for.
For 2017 ARDC has partnered with USAC to bring you the Eastern Regional Midgets. Once bitter rivals both organizations felt it best for midget racing to combine forces
Keeping with that spirit of cooperation the ARDC board of governors voted unanimously to add the “Badger Midget engine” to the list of acceptable engines platforms for 2017 and beyond.
This addition will allow Badger teams to travel to the east coast when not competing in the Badger series events
ARDC president Wayne Lesher states “my job is to promote midget racing on the east coast and this inclusion helps to facilitate that. One of the things that made midget racing so special was the many engine platforms and configurations. This rule allows for some of that creativeness and ingenuity back into midget racing”
