Zeb wise continues to impress with a strong 2nd place run from deep in the field at the USAC event held at The Duquoin Mini Magic Mile. With 72 of the Midwest's best 600 racers in attendance Zeb won his heat from the pole slotting 12th for the start of the Saturday night feature. Zeb continued to show the maturity that caught the Clauson Marshall Team's eye. Using every lane available and lapped traffic to his advantage Zeb raced his way forward to finish 2nd in his first visit to the "Mini Magic Mile".
Zeb ~ "Starting 12th at Duquoin with the competition that is here is no easy task. We were able to get down to the bottom early and wait for the top to develop. By mid race one & two started to develop a cushion where we were able to run the top and continue to work the bottom in three & four getting to third. With about 10 laps to go we got into lapped traffic and we were able to get by Joe B Miller on the top and had a clear lane to the checkers finishing 2nd. I can't thank my Dad and Clauson Marshall Racing enough for the great D1 race car tonight. "
Tim Clauson ~ "Going to any event that involves 72 racers and landing on the podium is a feat in itself but to do it on your first visit and come from deep in the pack is incredible. The thing about Duquoin is it rewards drivers who can show patience early, find a changing race track and who are patiently aggressive in traffic. Zeb used all those attributes to finish 2nd. Duquoin is becoming a bigger and bigger part of the National Midget scene as we kick off the USAC National Series there as well as the annual Chili Bowl Tune Up. Getting Zeb a successful first race there will pay dividends when we take him back in a full size midget in the future."
