Inaugural Creek County Clash Format Released

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (February 3, 2017) – The Driven Midwest USAC National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass is set to headline its first three-day event. Slated for March 9-11, 2017, the frenzy of small car competition will take place at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla..

The Inaugural Creek County Clash is being promoted by NOW600 Series founder, Terry Mattox. The event is set to be Oklahoma’s first outdoor Micro Sprint race in 2017. The Clash will include Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class, and Restricted ‘A’ Class.

Each night will also feature Dwarf Cars, and will follow the standard Creek County Speedway format and rules.

The Format for the Driven Midwest USAC NOW600 Portion of the Creek County Clash:

No split field. All drivers will compete on both qualifying nights as combined points from Heat Races, Semi’s, and Mains will set the lineup for Top 6 on Saturday night. Any tie in points will be broken by Friday’s passing point totals.

Less than 30 Cars per class:

NOW600 Format will be utilized with draw in for Heat Race starting position and passing points to determine drivers who advance to the Semi’s and Main Event.

Each night, Top 14 in Passing Points from Heat Races will move into the 20-lap Main. The highest passing point driver will draw for the invert at the NOW600 trailer during intermission. Remainder will fall into the nights Semi. Lineup will be done by passing point totals.

If one Semi is needed, the top 6 drivers will advance to the A-Main. If two Semi’s, then the top three, if three Semi’s, then the top two. Semi's will be 12-laps.

More than 30 Cars per class:

NOW600 Format will utilized with draw in for Heat Race starting position and passing points to determine drivers who advance to the Semi’s and Main Event.

Each night, Top 12 in Passing Points will transfer into the nights 20-lap Main Event. The highest Passing Point driver will draw for the invert at the NOW600 trailer at intermission. Everyone else will fall into one of the nights 15-lap Semi Mains taking the top 6 to the Main. If two Semi’s are ran, the Top 3 in each will transfer into the Main. If three Semi’s are ran, then the Top 2 will transfer into the Main. Number of Semi’s will depend on car count. Top 16 Drivers that do not transfer into the Main from the Semi’s will run in a LCQ race taking the top 2 finishers to the Main. Lineup for the LCQ will be heads up from Semi finish. The LCQ will be 12 Laps.

Following the completion of Friday’s program, event points will be totaled with the Top 6 locked in, straight up, into Saturday’s Main Event. All other drivers will run a complete show.

NOTE: The format used on the first night of the weekend will be used for the remainder of the weekend.

Thursday and Friday Race Points will follow the following scale:

Heat Races:

Points will be based off the drivers awarded passing point total from Heats.

Each driver that does not transfer from the Semi or LCQ will receive one (1) point.

A-Feature: Based on NOW600 points structure for standard A-Mains:

Dwarf Cars will not be locking in any cars during the three nights. All drivers will run a complete show each night.

Purse structure for the NOW600 classes will follow standard two-day purse payout with Thursday and Friday night paying Day 1 purse and Saturday night paying Day 2 Purse.

Each night will count as point races towards the Driven Midwest USAC NOW600 National Tour.

Dwarf Cars will be using standard CCS purse structure all three nights.
