DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (January 31, 2017) - As the season approaches the first green flag of 2017, officials with the Driven Midwest National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass have announced a rule amendment for the Restricted 'A' Class.
With an announcement made by the I-44 Riverside Speedway in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma allowing the single restrictor plate for the Restricted class in 2017, officials with the NOW600 Series will follow suit with them.
RESTRICTED PLATE UPDATE (1/31/2017 - 11:00PM): After further consideration on the Restricted 'A' Class, the National Open Wheel 600 Series will only allow the single restrictor plate manufactured by Kings Racing Products. Again, this is strongly recommended and NOT mandatory in 2017. You can find them at Driven Performace Midwest or on Kings Racing Products website.
"We feel like going forward in the Restricted 'A' Class under the NOW600 banner would benefit going to a single restrictor plate." commented NOW600 Series Director, Terry Mattox. "This will also help us in the tech department as well as a upgrade in safety."
While the single plate is is strongly recommended in the Restricted 'A' Class, drivers can still run the PCR stamped plates.
