MOLECULE TO CONTINUE THE TONY ELLIOTT “KEEP IT CLEAN” AWARD AT 2017 EDITION OF THE CHILI BOWL MIDGET NATIONALS

San Clemente, CA – The Chili Bowl Midget Nationals has developed into the Super Bowl of short track racing with nearly 400 entries descending on Tulsa, Oklahoma for the week long battle each January. The event has become not only one of the most competitive races in the world, but a who’s who of short track racing lore. In late 2015, Tony Elliott, one of these legends of the sport tragically lost his life weeks before the event. With the help of good friend and Molecule Ambassador Tony Hunt, an award was created for the 2016 Chili Bowl to honor Elliott. An energetic personality, a glaring smile and an arsenal of driver suits that will sorely be missed, Hunt and the staff at Molecule, a premier product for performance apparel, helmets and vehicle care, developed the Tony Elliott Keep It Clean award. The inaugural winner went to a competitor whose entire operation showcased the highest level of professionalism, decorated open wheel racer Darren Hagan. “It was a true blessing to receive the Keep It Clean award in 2016,” Hagan reflected before the 2017 running. “The award, coming from Molecule and their amazing product, and for Tony Elliott mean so much. Tony was an amazing racer who always looked the best on and off the racetrack. Tony Elliott is what a lot of racers would dream to become and I am very proud to have received and be a part of the award. “ “Aside from his trademark smile and his personality, Tony had more driving suits than anyone I knew and they were always so clean and first class,” Hunt explained. “Molecule is the pinnacle when it comes to keeping equipment clean and this award showcases those who excel just as much off the track. Last year we saw a number of competitors who could have been chosen as the victor and it will be exciting to see who can rise up and take the crown.” “We are thrilled to be able to continue an award that honors one of the sport’s stars,” explained Molecule Sales Manager Kyle Kuntze. “With nearly 400 entries we will definitely have our work cut out for us on deciding a winner. Luckily, in cooperation with our event partner Simpson, there will be plenty of Molecule on site to help drivers and teams Keep It Clean!” The Tony Elliot ‘Keep It Clean’ Award will supply the selected competitor with a Molecule check and the complete line of Molecule product. Scouts will be on hand throughout event in Tulsa, Oklahoma with the presentation of the winner to be led by Molecule and Tony’s wife Cindy Saturday afternoon, January 14 at the Simpson hauler.
