TULSA, Okla. (December 2, 2016) The return of the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network to the state of Colorado in 2017 will now be a three-wide affair so to speak, as the Colorado Motor Sports Park, located just outside Byer, Colo. has been added to the lineup on Friday, May 26, 2017.
The lead in to events at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, Colo. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 and Phillips County Raceway in Sunday, May 28, 2017, the now three night swing sets up a solid Memorial Day Weekend for both fans and teams.
“We’ve been IMCA for the past couple of years, but we haven’t had any traveling series at the track yet so the ASCS will be the first one,” commented track owner/promoter, Don Hulse. Asked about bringing the Lucas Oil ASCS to the Colorado Motor Sports Park, Hulse replied, “This is huge for the facility. This track is billed to be a National Event Facility with National exposure.”
The third full year of operation since being purchased by Hulse in June, 2012, the Colorado Motor Sports Park itself has been in existence since the 1970’s when it was first used as a Dog Track. In its current state, the track measures out to a three-eighths mile oval with roughly seven degrees of banking in the corners.
Tickets will go on sale soon at http://www.coloradomotorsportsparkllc.com. Tentatively, Pits will open at 2:00 P.M. with Grandstands opening at 5:00 P.M. Racing is slated to begin at 7:00 P.M. (MT).

The 2017 season is the 26th year of competition for the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network. The American Sprint Car Series if the largest sanctioning body for Sprint Car racing in the United States with events across both National and Regional platforms.
The preliminary lineup for the 2017 season will be released on December 9, 2016 during PRI Indy.
