[b PLACERVILLE, CA] – Handy Racing Promotions Incorporated has officially announced the venue for the return of Wild Winged Wednesday at Placerville Speedway on Wednesday, June 30. The 2010 weeknight event will be a high paying open competition event for winged 360 sprint cars.

The upcoming event will utilize the same format and payout structure as the traveling Civil War Series. The winner will receive $2000 for his or her efforts while the main event will pay $300 to take the green flag. In the past, the special mid week events at Placerville Speedway have drawn strong car counts and near capacity crowds. The turn out for this upcoming event is expected to produce much of the same as many of California's top drivers will go for the gusto in an event that will utilize a unique marketing campaign in the weeks to come and offers nothing but green with the waving of the green on June 30.

In 2009 Wild Winged Wednesday at Placerville Speedway lived up to its name in a big way. The event was a sanctioned Civil War make up race that drew the top talent of California and the Pacific Northwest. Despite threatening skies early in the day the promoter gambled against Mother Nature. The result was an electrifying feature event before a backdrop of surrounding lighting that concluded with Andy Forsberg celebrating in victory lane before an ecstatic crowd that remained cheering in the pouring rain.

"These Wednesday night races are a great thing," said Forsberg. "It's great for the sports and the fans and it brings out a lot of different drivers from different tracks. We look forward to another one this year and we can give everything we've got without the worry of points."

Mark your racing calendars for June 30 and come out to see who's the fastest driver in the west when Wild Winged Wednesday returns to Placerville Speedway. Gates will open at the regular start time of 5 p.m. Qualifying will begin at 6:30 followed by racing at 7 p.m. Watch for further information on this event in the coming weeks.
