NOW600 Unveils Rules and Pay Scale for 2017 Season

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (November 1, 2016) – The Driven Midwest National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass.com will enter its fifth season of competition in 2017, and has released the Rule Book and Pay Scale for the upcoming season.

“With our season beginning in February, we wanted to get our information out sooner rather than later,” commented NOW600 Series Founder, Terry Mattox. In terms of the series, the rules pertaining to the cars will remain unchanged whereas the Format will see an update.

Starting in 2017, the redraw for the Top 8 in Passing Points in each division will be removed and will be replaced instead with an invert.

“For the invert, we’ll take the high point driver in each class after the Heats and have them pull a pill to determine the number of rows being inverted. The possible options will be 0, 4, 6, or 8 cars being inverted. “

Asked why the series is getting way from the redraw, Mattox explained, “The reason really is to speed up the show. Right now, we are having to redraw 24 drivers and that just takes too much time. This way, it’s three drivers and we’re done.”

Any changes in the 2017 rule book are highlighted yellow and can be found on the NOW600 website. Another change of note will be in the payouts for all classes, with each seeing a little boost.

The Stock Non-Wing and Winged A-Class divisions will run the same purse for the first time since the series inception in 2013 with the Top 7 making a minimum of $100. Start money for the Non-Wing and A-Class divisions will be $50. In Restricted ‘A’ Class, the Top 5 in the A-Main will earn a minimum of $100 with $40 to start the A-Main.

All Non-Qualifiers will also continue to get their pit pass money back.

“Our payout is part of what has made the series successful. We want to make a show where a driver gets something for their time and effort, and we try to make that happen from top to bottom,” said Mattox.

Stock Non-Wing and Winged A-Class: 1. $300, 2. $200, 3. $150, 4. $130, 5. $125, 6. $115, 7. $100, 8. $80, 9. $70, 10. $60, 11. $55, 12-20. $50. NQ: Pit Pass $
