Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Oct. 25, 2016) – Brandon Hanks is on the cusp of recording his first career sprint car championship.

Hanks leads the ASCS Red River Region championship standings by 123 points with only one weekend of racing remaining – Nov. 4-5 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., for the Fall Fling, which is co-sanctioned with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“I can’t wait for it to be over so we won’t have to worry about it anymore,” he said. “It’s always been our goal to win a championship to become a championship-caliber team and we’ve worked hard this season to put ourselves in that position.”

Theoretically, Hanks only needs to show up to the final two ASCS Red River Region races to clinch the title.

“I can’t think of a better way to end the ASCS Red River Region season than to win,” he said. “That will be our goal. We want to win one of the shows, if not both.”

Hanks is tied for second in the region with two feature victories. He is also tied for the region lead with nine top fives.

“We took last weekend off and we won’t be racing this weekend so we should be ready to go for the Fall Fling at Creek County,” he said. “We’ve worked hard to be in the position we are in so we’re going to try to enjoy it and hopefully go out on top.”
