Inside Line Promotions – THE WOODLANDS, Texas (Oct. 12, 2016) – When you work hard all season and get that elusive first win of the season on the final night of racing, it leaves you hungry for more.

For Tommy Bryant and the SawBlade.com team, which earned their lone victory of the season during the ASCS Gulf South Region season finale, the 2017 season can’t come soon enough.

“To have a win on the last night of the season … it gives not only me but the crew … everyone, a great sense of accomplishment,” he said. “For James and Richard Cooper and Brad Benic and Austin Zimmerman, it makes us hungry for next year.”

Bryant and Cooper Motorsports had thought about a few more races following the September victory, but opted instead to work with primary sponsor SawBlade.com to help market their products and build for next season.

“We are putting together a car with new graphics for SawBlade to do some photo shoots and commercials,” Bryant said. “We want to promote the SawBlade brand the way they should be treated. They have been a phenomenal sponsor and just as important, a great supporter of dirt track racing.”

When reflecting on the 2016 season that saw Bryant score 11 top-five finishes in 23 events, he feels frustrated yet confident.

“Of course the win total isn’t where I wanted it to be,” he said. “But when you look at the year in total and finishing in the top five that many times … there were a lot of races we didn’t get to finish because of crashes or something stupid that usually never happens … I know we had a top-three car every night we went out. Austin, Brad and the Coopers did their jobs and I like to think the driver did his job and we just had some bad racing luck.

“We never showed up to run second. With the equipment the Coopers provided and the help I had I expected to win or at the very least be on the podium every night. I had every resource possible to win on a weekly basis.”

Bryant, who finished second in the ASCS Gulf South Region championship standings, said he is unsure of what the racing plan is for 2017.

“We will wait until all the schedules come out and plan accordingly,” he said. “I can say we were fortunate to run in the Gulf South Region. We ran within four hours of home most nights for $3,000 to win. There aren’t many areas in the country where teams can say that.

“SawBlade is back on board next year and hopefully we can bring some more sponsors in. I really would like to race more, but it’s all up to the funding. We have all the necessary ingredients – the car, the engines, the crew. We have some of the best in the business.”

Bryant also knows how important the TEAM aspect of racing is.

“I can’t really put into words how thankful I am for the support I get,” he said. “From my beautiful wife, Tracy, for putting up with all the weekends on the road and nights in the shop to the Coopers and Brad and Austin for their sacrifices and hard work, to my dad for his encouragement and cooking us great meals, to Douglas Roberts at DR II Engines, Frank Coleman, Westside Truck and Trailer, Bubba Andrews, Momentum Racing Suspensions and Dissolvalloy, I couldn’t do ANY of this without each and every one of them. I can’t wait for 2017.”
