Billings Motorsports Park Showcases Great Racing and Close Championship Battles in 2016

Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (Oct. 10, 2016) – Billings Motorsports Park enjoyed a strong season after a slow start to the year thanks to Mother Nature.

“After our first few shows were rained out everything started rolling very well,” Billings Motorsports Park Owner Mike Quigley said. “We had great racing all year and the championships were back and forth until the end of the season. We wrapped up the season with more than 100 cars at our season finale so that was a great way to cap the year. I want to thank all of the drivers, teams, fans and sponsors for their support of BMP. We’re working hard to build on the momentum we’ve created this year.”

Five track champions were crowned as Kelly Hample won the late model class, Robert Petroff the street stocks division, Jason George the super stocks title, Beau Nave the modifieds class and Dennis Hurd the midwest modifieds division.

Hample led the late model class with four feature victories as six different drivers were victorious during the 10 A Mains.

Cory Craver scored a track-best five wins – all during the final five races of the season – in the street stocks class as five different racers won at least once during 10 features.

Jeremy Meirhofer captured five super stocks wins to lead the class, which featured four winners during 12 races.

Hank Berry, Eddie Kirchoff and Travis Davis led the modifieds class with two wins apiece. The division showcased seven winners in 10 main events.

Hurd, Jake Dimond and Doug LaPierre were each victorious twice to lead the midwest modifieds division, which had 10 winners in 13 races.

A total of 34 different drivers scored at least one feature victory at Billings Motorsports Park in 2016. Craver and Meirhofer were tied for the most wins with five each.

Stay tuned for news throughout the offseason about the 2017 schedule and updates about the 3/8-mile oval next season.
