Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (Oct. 4, 2016) – Derek Hagar made another visit to Victory Lane last Saturday during the Fall Nationals at Riverside International Speedway.

Hagar started off the night by advancing from fourth to second place in a heat race, helping him gain crucial points for the feature lineup.

“We had the fourth starting spot in our heat race and finished second, which put me second in passing points,” he said.

Hagar started second in the A Main, where he followed Marshall Skinner for the first half of the main event.

“In the feature, I ran second for the first 12 laps and Skinner was leading the race,” he said. “Skinner tried to get by a lap car, got over the cushion and into the fence and flipped.”

Hagar benefitted from Skinner’s misfortune and claimed the top spot approximately halfway through the 25-lap feature.

“I inherited the lead and we led the final 13 laps and held on for the win,” he said. “I guess I’d rather be lucky than good any day.”

Hagar is set to race this Saturday at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., with the USCS Series.
