NSA Shootout Crowns Champion as Top 12 in Standings Earn Point Fund Money

Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (Sept. 15, 2016) – Kelly Miller is the inaugural NSA Shootout champion.

The series featured six 360ci winged sprint car races during three weekends this summer as Billings Motorsports Park hosted the first and last doubleheader with Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, sandwiched in the middle. A total of 52 drivers, including champions of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour and National Sprint League, from a dozen states and Canada contested at least one of the NSA Shootout races.

Miller, who hails from Canada, was one of four drivers to win during five finished features (the first race rained out). Texas native Aaron Reutzel and Washington resident Trey Starks also picked up a victory with Missouri’s Danny Lasoski sweeping the final weekend.

Lasoski came the closest to earning the winner’s bonus money, which provided an additional $1,000 for claiming three race victories. Four A Main victories netted a $1,500 bonus with five triumphs providing a $2,000 bonus. Sweeping all six races was worth an extra $2,500.

Lasoski also finished 13th in the final event standings, which was one position – and only one point – out of receiving points fund money. The top 12 drivers in the championship standings split $5,000 with Miller receiving $1,000 as the champion.

Starks, who was only 19 points behind Miller in the final tally, placed second in the standings to garner $750. Canadians Skylar Gee and Matthew Dusseault were third and fourth, respectively, with Reutzel rounding out the top five.

Canadian Kyle Evans was sixth, Idaho’s Joe Ramaker seventh, Canadian Dennis MacEachern eighth, Travis Rilat of Texas ninth and Montana’s David Hoiness placed 10th. Canadians Marc Duperron and Cody Masse ended 11th and 12th, respectively.

Plans for next season’s NSA Shootout will be announced in the near future.
