Inside Line Promotions – ORRVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 6, 2016) – Brandon Hanks is pleased with his Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions debut last weekend in Ohio.

“Boy, it’s tough,” he said. “I had fun. It was extremely nice, too. It was very welcoming. We can’t wait to get back there.”

The doubleheader began on Saturday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, where Hanks competed in a 410ci sprint car for only the fourth time in his career. He qualified 31st quickest overall and sixth in his group before placing sixth in a heat race to miss locking into the main event by only one position.

Hanks ended the night 11th in the B Main.

“We screwed ourselves up car-wise,” he said. “We were a whole lot closer in the B Main, but we still weren’t right. The car was real tight. It wasn’t comfortable. We figured out what we were doing wrong and got that fixed for Sunday.”

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Wayne County Speedway. Hanks timed in 19th quickest overall and eighth in his group. He picked up a position to place seventh in a heat race before maneuvering to a runner-up result in the B Main to transfer into the back of the main event.

Hanks battled inside the top 20 throughout the feature before posting a 19th-place result.

“I’m pleased with the improvement,” he said. “We made a big dent in it. The car was so much better and I was a whole lot more comfortable and confident. We went the right way. I’ve got to thank Dale Blaney. I got to ask him some questions and he told me it was going to be really dusty and hard to see. The first five to seven laps it was hard to see. He said your best bet is to run the bottom and the middle. Everything he predicted was what happened.

“Those guys are tough. The locals are just as good as the Outlaws and All Stars that show up at those tracks. That’s what we’re looking for. We’ll be going back to try to learn more. I learned a lot. We get a little better every time we run a 410. It just takes a little trial and error. I need to learn more. We need some seat time.”

Hanks will return to 360 competition this Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, with the ASCS Red River Region. He enters this weekend leading the championship standings by 168 points with only four races remaining.
