Taylor Excited to Showcase Talent During Upcoming Marquee Events

Inside Line Promotions – CALHAN, Colo. (Sept. 1, 2016) – Zac Taylor knows an opportunity when it comes knocking. The teenager, who recently returned to high school, is preparing for a huge few weeks of racing that will showcase his racing skills in front of some of the biggest crowds of the season.

Taylor, who is in his rookie year driving a midget in the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA), is coming off a third-place performance in Todd Henry’s machine at El Paso County Raceway last Saturday.

“We started eighth and by the second lap I was up to second and I got into the lead for a few laps,” he said. “I started to search around the track and got out of line. I went to the bottom a few laps and I thought it worked. I couldn’t hear any cars again. Then someone went around the top side and I knew I had to get back up there. I ended up third. I made a mistake, but I learned from it.”

Taylor is more than excited for the upcoming weekend when he will compete with the RMMRA against the POWRi West Midget Series at Airport Raceway in Garden City, Kan., on Friday and Saturday.

“It’s been a very, very long time since the RMMRA has competed at Garden City and against the POWRi,” he said. “That’s going to draw the best midgets from the region.”

Then on Sept. 14, Taylor will again showcase his talents in front of a packed crowd at El Paso County Raceway as the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competes that night.

“We are the support division and you know the place will be packed,” he said. “I’m nervous, but excited. I’m looking at the next few races as a great opportunity to gain some exposure on a big stage.”

Taylor, who is currently third in the RMMRA points, also announced he will once again be driving for Cory Kruseman at the 2017 Chili Bowl Nationals.

“We are working on marketing partners for the Chili Bowl and also to race some USAC Western States midgets for Cory in California before the indoor races this winter,” Taylor said. “Also, I just can’t thank Todd Henry enough for the opportunity to race his midget. He has taught me so much this year. I’m going to do everything I can to get him a win.”
