Cottage Grove's Doug Schenck, reigning Meyer Valves and Vacs wingLESS Sprint Series presented by the IRA champion finally found victory lane for the first time this season in the 20-lap feature.
"It's been a while since we've been in victory lane," said Schenck. "I think we've finally got this thing figured out. In the over two years we're run at Wilmot, we've never been able to beat Todd(Lehr) when he's still been running on the track. I would have rather he been out there, but we'll still take the win."
Lehr of Genoa City, the wingless season point leader, posted fast time and appeared headed toward another feature win when mechanical woes forced him into the infield while leading in the last half of the feature. Schenck took over top spot at that point and went on to his first Wilmot win in 2016. Allen Hafford of Beach Park, Illinois was second. Bristol's Chris Klemko finished third. Milwaukee's Jordan Mattson recovered from an early race spin coming from the back of the field to finish fourth. Derek Crane of Waukegan, Illinois was fifth.
