Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Aug. 23, 2016) – Brandon Hanks owns a 168-point lead in the ASCS Red River Region championship standings with only five races remaining.
The next test is this Saturday at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas.
“We’re going after the championship,” he said. “We want to win. That’s the main goal. Now that we’re running for a championship we need to make sure we keep our nose clean and have consistent nights.”
Hanks has been the most consistent driver in the region this season as he has earned two wins, eight top fives and 10 top 10s – either tied for or leading each statistic.
“We have a good chance and we don’t want to give anything up,” he said. “We need to be smart and make good decisions. But if we can go after the win we’re going after the win.”
Hanks has been to Superbowl Speedway twice this season. The first race was rained out and he ended fifth during the most recent visit.
“I’m looking forward to going back because we’re going to do the same thing we did, but tinker with it a little,” he said. “There’s not a whole lot of tracks where the backstretch is one big corner. It is different from anywhere we go. I enjoy going there. It was really racy last time. It’s a nice race track.”
