Big Al Kids & Motorsports Foundation Welcomes Hailey Bower as Newest Member

Inside Line Promotions – ARLINGTON, Wash. (Aug. 18, 2016) – The Big Al Kids & Motorsports Foundation is pleased to welcome Hailey Bower as its newest member.

Bower, who is a 17-year-old from Washington State, has faced an uphill battle since she was born with Colonic Inertia, GI tract dysmotility and Obstructed Defecation Syndrome.

“Hailey has spent more time in doctors (offices) and the hospital then at school,” said Bower’s mother, Tiffany. “Luckily Hailey is a very smart kid who excels at school and has been able to keep a very high GPA and has taken advanced classes. If she can’t make it to school due to doctors appointments, surgeries or just hurting a lot we get the school work that has been missed and she gets it done. Hailey has never said why me. Her motto is what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. In life you can laugh or cry (and) we do a lot of laughing.”

Bower, who races with the Northwest Focus Midgets, has been welcomed with open arms into the Big Al Kids & Motorsports Foundation, which was created by Al Tschider – a.k.a. Big Al – to provide motor sports trips and racing opportunities for children battling life-threatening conditions and illnesses.

“The Big Al Foundation means a lot to me,” she said. “I hope the younger boys can look up to me and see in life we never give up. I love how when I put my helmet on and get buckled in I leave all my health issues in the pits. Out on the track I am just like everyone else. Everyone is so nice that I have met. I am very new to the Foundation, but excited to be a part of it.”

Bower is scheduled to participate in this weekend’s 2nd annual Big Al Memorial race on Friday and Saturday at Deming Speedway in Deming, Wash. The event features an increased purse that pays $1,250 to the 600cc micro sprint champion, $1,250 to the midget champion, $1,000 to the 1,200cc mini sprint champion, $750 to the restricted micro sprint champion and $400 to the Kasey Kahne Junior micro sprint champion.

Points will be accumulated through qualifying, heat races and features both nights and the driver with the most combined points is the champion in each class.
